BiebsV Sarasqueta Sideock 375
I recently picked up a V Sarasqueta sidelock double rifle in 375 H&H. I had read that many of the Spanish houses (Grulla, Ugartechea, Arietta) had made higher-end doubles, but most are not imported into the states. This one is marked as an import by William, Larkin, & Moore. It seems to be well made and nicely finished, with full engraving and casecolored metalwork. I notice that a dealer has one in 470 on Guns America for $15,995. Does anyone have experience with these rifles, and know its approximate value? Thanks...Biebs

fla3006470 Sarasquetas seen to run around $12-15K, unless you find one at auction where they may go for less. Good values for a sidelock, IMO.

JDA-COHey Biebs - I owned a Sarasqueta in 375 for a couple years. I paid $6,100 for it (in new condition) and then traded it away towards a another DR I fell in love with.
Mine had hand detachable side-locks - It was a pretty gun that I wish I had back. I could never find a load that shot well with it and just figured I would use it as a 50 yard gun. You know how that goes... It starts to eat at you...
I'm surprised they don't go for more money because the amount of finishing was extraordinary.
JDA
EDIT: Should have also added that mine was case-colored and had pretty nice engraving (If you want I can probably find a pic of it).

I didn't even look at the time stamp... That's funny.
Whatever happened to the gun?

BiebsDon't remember...someone got it. For me, DR calibers begin with at least a "4" :-)

JDA-COIt's funny... When I got onto DR's I kind of thought the same thing... Then I picked up a Zoli in 308, then a beretta in 30-06, then a merk in 9.3 and a few others along the way and found that they were a whole heap of fun to hunt with; not just in NA but all over. I'd take a 9.3 over one of the big bores because they are so versatile. That doesn't mean I don't want one of the big bores, in fact, I'm searching for one right now!
DR's are just plain fun!
