No, I have put 2 links below to what Island locks look like.

Note that the metal in front of the hammer is not there
- so the easiest was to tell island locks is that they
have a piece of wood in front of them and between them
and the action.

They are "BACK ACTION SIDE LOCKS"! The locks on this action actually are attached to the main body of the action, by a lip under the front of the side plate held in place with the screw shown on the left of the lock plate through to the other side. The Island lock's side plate doesn't touch the action body, and is clamps the wood between the plates.

Pretty isn't she!!! Big Grin

This H&H .577BPE 2.75" was picked up this afternoon by my friend Mike Shannon. It is the gun I was seeking loads for last week, when he bought it. George let him borrow dies, until Mikes arrive. Also gave him a couple dozen BELL brass. Watchman has shipped some bullets. Moulds are ordered from Victory. 400 posted some great load data...and we are in business!

I will post results as soon as we get it running.
