All the facts aren't in yet but there is a rumor floating around that he was playing with Michael458's Non-Cons..
Bear in mind that that only a rumor though.

Have you heard any other rumors about what happened to his knee?

Mike and I have been conferring ...
Everything above the neck has to go - too damaged to salvage.
We also agree that everything below the neck has to go too - nothin but suet and cheesecloth there.
The rest ... Well we're not sure ...
Get well soon my friend!

Since he's so 'thrifty' I suspect that he's going to use those bone chunks for something.

J_ZolaWhy did the doctor take a picture of your bones? Proof of work done?
13 March 2013, 07:52
GrenadierI wouldn't let all that nice bone go to waste. There is plenty you could do with it.
For example:
Weatherby style diamond inlays for your 600
Beads and "moon" sight disks
Keep on hand to make caps for broken teeth (from the 600 of course)
Dice
Stones for those funny string ties the guys in Arizona wear
Boar tusk repair parts
Buttons for your seal skin shooting jacket
Fresh ivory for the keys on your accordion
.
13 March 2013, 08:10
cal pappasJZ:
I asked to see the bones out of curiosity but the doc had to shoot a photo as I could not see nor take the bones. They had to go directly to the incinerator and not brought up to the recovery room. Health or whatever laws I was told.
Grenadier:
Good thoughts all if I was allowed to keep them.
Cheers, gents.

I have two gents down under planning for July. I think the issue is either 1)hunting without a licensed guide or 2)hunting if I import the .600 for the Darwin shoot. Hopefully it will get sorted out in a month or two. Prior to Australia I will look at a vacation in Zim with a small amount of plains game hunting. It all depends on the rate of recovery.
Again, cheers all and thanks.

coniferOUCH!! 12 years ago, I fell on knee while climbing in WY, destroyed my ACL and did other damage. Dr. said I'd need knee replacement. PHOOEY! I became an addict of glucosamine (at suggestion of orthopedist), in spite of my cynicism ....and it works!! If I stop swallowing at least 1500mg/day.....pain returns. So, I am vigilant.

herrdoktorHello, Cal:
I had the same chunks removed from my left knee in September. I began hunting in November, and next month I am going to the hills to take roe deer. I can walk now better than I could in the last five years and take an odd analgesic once or twice a week, if ever.
Work hard with the rehab and you will be shooting again before the snow melts.
Best wishes
