Glad to see VC has rounded the bottom of the receiver. Most of their guns have a sharp edge on the bottom. If it shoots as well as my VC's you will be happy.

What's terrific about this old, obsolete round is that it's still Kick'n Ass on both ends of the rifle!

I would like to thank Jack for posting the pictures for me, I also would like to thank anouther forum member John Hipewell for going above and beyond to loading the ammo for me and test fireing the rifle.
I myself have not had a chance to fire it but I know that it prints very well.
Many thanks again to the verious forum members for there help and insight on double rifles.

Octave,
Beautiful, simply beautiful. Good luck and congratulations. You will be surprised at how easy it is to handle and if anything like mine, how accurate it shoots.

Rusty - glad you quoted grandveneur. I thought I was hallucinating when I saw that as well as the post in my thread - both of which are now gone.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Obsolete, like flint knives, and both are more wonderful each day... old

I had the honour of shooting a Jeffery 600NE and it was big push. I took a half step back! I found the 470 "kicked" a lot more. Nice rifle & good luck.

I am still dreaming of my first double rifle!

A couple of "Hoot & Shoots" past Andy (drewhenrytnt)shot both a 600 and 700 NE double rifles. As I recall Andy said the 600 had a sharper recoil. Hell, either one would be WAY TOO MUCH for me!
