Can anyone tell me what Heym model is from the pictures?

NorskI agree, ugly photos. So is it a nice and slender duble for 9.3x74?
The price with a zeiss varipoint (red dot) scope on a swing mount is a total of 5300 dollars. Sounds like a good deal (if rifle is in good shape)?

NorskSeller says it has gone 40 rounds factory ammo. Swing mount and scope comes factory mounted. It is a 88b. Says it is like new.
Should I sell my krieghoff 500/416 and go for it?

NorskHow can I distinguish between a Heym 80b and 88b? I know the 80 is lighter, but I want to make sure I am not mistaking an 80 for an 88... Can you see it from the pics?
Im taking a look at the rifle tomorrow. Is it marked as 80 or 88?

NorskSeller also just wrote me that the gun does not have ejectors... Thought those were standard on all 88s? does that mean he is selling an 80?

Probably not marked with either...
But the model 80 frame is smaller, and it is identifiable by the manual-cocking lever on top (hand-spanner.)
The larger 88B has the conventional safety.
Also, the model 80 is not available with ejectors. The 88B (as shown) is available with or without ejectors.
The 88B is a trim little rifle that handles very well

NorskJust came back from seller. Gun is in good shape... but. It does not have a greener crossbolt locking mechanism (no bite after Chamber and no bolt). It just locks up With the underlugs under the Chamber. It has a conventional safety (no manual cocking). Seller says it was bought in 2001. No ejectors. I am now doubting it is a Heym 88b, seems more like 80b (but it has an ordinary safety). Would I be right in assuming this? If it is an 80 I Guess im not really interested.

No, not all.
They had made some with and without hand-cocking.
Exactly the same with the single trigger, there are some made with and some with (traditionall) double triggers.

Frank is right, both were made (hand-cocking and regular safety.)
If it has no Greener, it is an 80B.

dpcdWait... you are selling your K 416 to get this one? I wouldn't do that. You will need them both.

NorskI dropped the heym 88 that turned out to be a 80. Just itching for something new and find my k 500-416 a bit front heavy. Wish I could afford a 470 plus heym but got 5 kids and no chance convincing wife atm. Krieghoff yppet to 470 or 500 is my next project now...

dpcdKeep looking; you might be able to trade your K 416 for a 470 or 500 without having to give too much boot.
