One last Searcy question - scope mount
Final question before signing on the dotted line and sending in an order.

Would like to order the Talley scope mount for the rifle in case I decide to use a scope at some point. If the rifle is ordered with the scope mount what does it look like when the scope mount is removed? Or does it clamp on?

Just want to make sure the rifle does not look weird if the scope mount is not used.

Snowwolfe,
It is not a scope but did you see the "It's a Miracle" thread by Rusty? Think I may get his idea done to my Searcy .470.

The newer Searcy's can have the scope mount built into the rib as shown above. Very neat way to do it!

Some of the older rifles cannot have this done ... like my original Field Grade. Is why I made the mount for the red dot. Otherwise would have been glad to have the new mount system!

Thanks for posting the photos. I like! For me at least it is a no brainer, order the scope mount with the rifle and be done with it.

IMO, You would have to be a fool sofa not to have this option added on a light to Medium ( up to say,450/400) double..

I don't think I'd order a B. Searcy double rifle without the Talley quarter rib, no matter the chambering! The rib looks great, and the system is there if you deside to use it, if not As far as I'm concerned it simply makes the rifle worth more even if you never use it!

Good point Mac. Deffianantly a selling point in the event it gets traded in down the road. Same can be said for the sling studs.
