WR Hammer Gun .500 NE Opinions?
I believe that rifle (the first one you included a link to) is owned by Dutch44 who posts on AR. I think George has it on consignment. You might PM him. My understanding talking to him is that the rifle is very accurate.

MJines is correct, I do own that rifle and it is extremely accurate. If you have any questions you can PM me and I will be happy to give you whatever info you need.

I am really tempted by the VC. Talked to Ken, seemed like a really nice guy. Made me laugh a lot too as he seemed aware of a lot of local political issues here in Scandinavia...
Now I just have to sell my K-Gun and I will have the money. Also need to talk it over with the local gun Department (police) and argue that Moose have become a lot tougher the last years (Ken's advice)...
Todd do you have a AR link to your Buff in the jess video clip?

You can't buy that Westley Richards. It has hammers which have to be re-cocked each time you reload. It will surely get you killed, at least that's what everyone told me when I had a Blaser S2.

Just kidding Dutch.

. . . must be why they quit making them a century ago . . . with the exception of the Blaser S2.

MJinesFor the life of me I do not understand why Blaser would not go with the Krieghoff design. The mechanics cannot be so different to make that impossible . . . and it is different than how the bolt action Blasers work since they remained cocked until you manually decock them. Puzzling.

Dave BushMike, trust me, once you master it, it is not a problem. I think the manual cocking and lack of ejectors are a cost thing. You can get a new 500 for around $8,500. It just lets more and more people into the double market and in a 9,3,3X74, with built in scope mounts, I think it's a heck of a gun and I'll bet quite popular in Europe.
I have an R93 with a couple of barrels so when I looked for a double, the Blaser was my first pick. I used to have an 470 S2. It was a great gun. That was my entry gun. If I had gotten a 500 right out of the box, I would still have it but I ran across a great deal on a 500 K-gun so I traded it off. The 500/.416 is built on the smaller frame and I think that would be a great gun too. Todd is right. An S2 is no VC but then again, it's thousands of dollars cheaper.
