I've seen on the auction sites a DR, by Varney-Carron, called the Sagittaire. It is available in O/U 9.3 X 74R for about $3K. Do any of you have any experiance with this one? What do you know about the company, etc.?
At this price I think it might make a good knock-around / truck gun. What do you think.

V-C is one of the better companies, by reputation. We know them in the USA mostly for Hastings shotgun barrels, but they are a well known French gun maker as well.

As with any used gun, you need to consider the individual gun rather than the name. But this name is a good one.

Carlos111: Thanks for the quick response. The DR I've seen on the auction sites is for a new gun not used. This was a "Buy it now" price. I don't like the rear sight at all.

Maaan, I'm still kicking myself for not picking up that pre-war Jones underlever VC .450-400 3&1/4" that Steve Barnett had for sale year ago for about 8k. NOT dancing Frowner
