500 gr Northfork CP loads for .470 NE
OK Guys,

I have a Searcy field grade and want to load the 500 gr Northfork CP and FP.

The rifle is regulated to 108 gr IMR 4831 with 500 gr Woodleigh softs.

Any suggestions as to where to start with Northforks?

Start with the same load. But you may need to up the powder charge because the NF bullets engrave so easily they might not generate as much pressure (velocity) as the Woodleighs.

Mike .... these are the monometal bullets, correct ??? And they're OK for the double rifle, because they only engage the rifling on their rings ???

Retreever Mike,

NF bullets are in fact banded, like G S Custom, RIGHT?

Huuuhhh?? Now I'm even confused. bewildered

The solids are monometal and banded. The softs are bi-metal and grooved.

So I am guessing that NFMike is THE Mike of North Fork Bullets?
