.450/.400 3" brass?
Does anyone know a source (other than A-Square?) Butch about has my rifle put together and time is getting short. I have 100 Woodleigh solids and 170 old Barnes-X 350 grainers, but no brass in which to put them... and, btw, does anyone have the load data for the Searcy regulation load. (I found out 82 grains of IMR 4831 with 215 primers for 2150 fps out of 26" barrels).

I talked to Hornady today and they "expect" to have ammo on sale in late spring at the MSRP or $101 or so. Not too terrible?

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Judge:

www.huntingtons.com list Jamison's brass on their site. Not sure if it is stock.

www.grafs.com lists Bertram.

Good luck.

Huntington's list Jamison brass. If they are out of stock, Grafs carries at least some of the Jamison line. Horneber also lists it on their site, but it is not among the Horneber cases carried at HDS.

Buffalo Arms had Rigby stamped brass earlier this year. It wasn't on their web site, then so a call to them might be best. As I recall,it was $130/100. Bob

Butch provided the following regulation load data for my PH

Case: Norma
Primer: Federal 215
Powder: IMR 4831, 82 grains
Bullet: Woodliegh 400 grain soft
Velocity is a nominal 2050 fps

I am currently using original Bell cases, and recently picked up 20 HDS cases. Like everyone, I am anxiously waiting for Hornady to market brass. The last info that I got from them was that they are making brass right now and will market ammo in the spring of 2007.

German made HORNEBER is what I will be using with my Searcy 450/400.

I found my HDS brass on Old Western Scounger, but I suspect finding brass there is pretty much hit or miss.

Judge, I bought 200 of the Bell/Rigby cases from Buffalo Arms. Very good case life, good brass and reasonable too!
