K-Gun going to SA. Back from SA Pictures added.

Hello All,

Well I am off to SA for 3 weeks, combination of family stuff and a need to get back.
I will however be sneaking off the a relatives farm, and the K-gun (470 NE) and a 300 H&H will keep me company.

Plains game on the menu, should Diana smile upon my venture, are 24" sized Impala, Nice Warties, 50" Kudu, Nice Zebra rug and maybe a Blessie. ( Bles Bok ).

Hope to have a report and pictures when I get back.

Hope I can use the K gun for most of the hunting, bush is still really thick.

Yes the mascot got to see Granny for the first time.
It was a blast.

Iterim report on the hunting.

300 H&H 1 50 1/4" Kudu, Small Impala ram (Not the big boy I was hoping for ) all off sticks 166 M on Kudu and 140 M on Impala

470 NE 1 good Zebra Stallion, Free hand quartering away 45 M Bullet found under skin on offside shoulder.

I will post pics upon my return.

Hello All,

Just got back more to follow.
Just a taste.
470 NE Krieghoff, 45 M Free hand quartering away, entered high at rear bullet recovered under skin of offside shoulder, cleaved the heart, ran 40 M.

Re... picture of zebra with your K-Gun, what
is that thing that appears on top of your barrels?? Red dot sight or something???
If possible post close up picture of K-Gun with
what ever is mounted there and what kind of mount did you use. Thanks

Hello,

300 H&H used factory Federal 180 gr partitions.

Yes, that is a 3.5 MOA Docter Optik red dot sight, mount is my custom made mount.

Here are the recovered bullets.
The partition lost all of the lead out of the front cavity.

Thanks for the pictures on the Doctor sight.
Looks like you removed the block at the back of the barrels and made your mount. I did the same thing for my K-Gun with a slightly longer rail and used the Trijicon RMR with orange dot.
Problem is the smallest dot is 7 MOA. My son-in-law and I share this gun. He is red/green color blind ie. the orange dot. Looks like you have a good open sight picture with the Doctor
removed.

Trijicon has revised the RMR and I believe it is now available in a 4 MOA dot.
