450-400 Heym
I got to handle GI's Heym 450-400 today.
What a sweet rifle, great wood, and balance.
The 26" barrels are great. The front bead is in focis, and the rear V very fast. If you are over 40
Ck out 26" barrels, pushing that front site out 2 more inches makes a big difference with my eyes.

Yep,
They are sweet for sure. I think I am going to end up with one in a few years.
Kind of a lot of money for me right now.
Even if you are young, 26 inch barrels are the way to go. Congratulations!

Big Bore FanI shoot the new Heym double made for the .450/400 3" 2 weeks ago and I was enthusiastic. This will be my next rifle/round combination. (If I have enough money

)

I looked at them at SCI this year. Nice gun but they build it on the large frame and I think it's way too heavy for a 450-400. If I'm going to lug around a gun that weighs as much as a 500 It might as well be a 500. I asked if they would build it on the 375 size frame, which is more than big enough, and they looked at me like I was crazy. An 8.5-9lb 450-400 would be perfect.
