Where do you find sling swivels with those "skinny" cross pins...

My VC O/U has a barrel mounted sling swivel base and the cross pin hole is only about a 1/10 of an inch in dia.
Anybody know of sling swivels that have a smaller cross pin. All the ones I have are about .140 in dia

What I have learned on AR, since 2001:
1. The proper answer to: Where is the best place in town to get a steak dinner? is…You should go to Mel's Diner and get the fried chicken.
2. Big game animals can tell the difference between .015 of an inch in diameter, 15 grains of bullet weight, and 150 fps.
3. There is a difference in the performance of two identical projectiles launched at the same velocity if they came from different cartridges.
4. While a double rifle is the perfect DGR, every 375HH bolt gun needs to be modified to carry at least 5 down.
5. While a floor plate and detachable box magazine both use a mechanical latch, only the floor plate latch is reliable. Disregard the fact that every modern military rifle uses a detachable box magazine.
6. The Remington 700 is unreliable regardless of the fact it is the basis of the USMC M40 sniper rifle for 40+ years with no changes to the receiver or extractor and is the choice of more military and law enforcement sniper units than any other rifle.
7. PF actions are not suitable for a DGR and it is irrelevant that the M1, M14, M16, & AK47 which were designed for hunting men that can shoot back are all PF actions.
8. 95 deg F in Africa is different than 95 deg F in TX or CA and that is why you must worry about ammunition temperature in Africa (even though most safaris take place in winter) but not in TX or in CA.
9. The size of a ding in a gun's finish doesn't matter, what matters is whether it’s a safe ding or not.
10. 1 in a row is a trend, 2 in a row is statistically significant, and 3 in a row is an irrefutable fact.
11. Never buy a WSM or RCM cartridge for a safari rifle or your go to rifle in the USA because if they lose your ammo you can't find replacement ammo but don't worry 280 Rem, 338-06, 35 Whelen, and all Weatherby cartridges abound in Africa and back country stores.
12. A well hit animal can run 75 yds. in the open and suddenly drop with no initial blood trail, but the one I shot from 200 yds. away that ran 10 yds. and disappeared into a thicket and was not found was lost because the bullet penciled thru. I am 100% certain of this even though I have no physical evidence.
13. A 300 Win Mag is a 500 yard elk cartridge but a 308 Win is not a 300 yard elk cartridge even though the same bullet is travelling at the same velocity at those respective distances.

I had one V-C come through with the same issue. Simple fix was to use a 9/64" (IIRC) drill bit to enlarge both holes. Much easier to use any of my existing swivels. Hope this helps.

DoubleDonNot taking a drill to a double rifle, just slightly enlarging the existing hole in the stud. Big difference in my opinion. Also don't need to remember which sling goes to which rifle. Keeps them interchangeable.

new_guyQuality wise, there is quite a difference between the stamped-out Uncle Mikes and the machined Recknagel swivels. The quality of the latter is more than worth the cost difference.

I actually wouldn't call it quality. Sure a machined swivel is nicer but it just a swivel that is holding a 9 lb object. Machining it is way "over specing" it.
Would you machine the screws to build your redwood deck? They will be a lot nicer screws!

Just never saw the logic, the need, or utility in spending $10 on boot laces because I was wearing $400 boots when the $2.50 boot laces are 100% functional and look just fine.

The Recknagel, as per New Guy's comments.
I have a VC double in 600NE.
I had used a web sling with an uncle mikes swivel.
Well , it failed whilst crossing a dry creek bed in Zim. End result the rifle slipped of the sling , the butt hit a rock in the sand and fell backward,smashing the front sight clean off!!!!
The worst part was that my cameraman was directly behind me and he faced the muzzles of
a fully loaded. 600 as it went down!!!
Thank god for a good safety and intercepting sears!!!
So please Use Recknagels!!
I've changed all mine over.
I have a dedicated sling for each rifle.

BaxterBRecknagels are fantastic. And they make several locking types that I’ve not seen for sale in the US. NECG could probably get them.

I have done this on two rifle studs with ZERO issues. Quick easy and DONE!

On my 600 the centre pin failed.
Don't know how but the sling had the swivel on it but no Centro in after the accident.
Albeit my 600 weighs around 15 lbs loaded. And that swivel had carried it for 3 safaris previously,
So around 46 days before failure!.
My main concern was for my cameraman getting a full frontal of the barrels as it fell out of the sling.
I get goosebumps just thinking about it!!!!!
Anyhow, as discussed, Recknagel are clearly the most robust, even the British manufacturers use them in there slings!!,

Vol717Eventually the leather thong will get old and dry out and break. Use pieces of braided boot lace and they won't break in your lifetime. The reason I know this is that my wife has a bunch of roofing slate that have painted scenes on them. They were hanging all over the house using pieces of leather threaded through the two holes every roofing slate has. Can you imagine the noise that a piece of slate makes when falling from six feet? Of course it happened in the middle of the night and I ran down the hall with a loaded shotgun looking for an intruder. The next day the leather thongs all were replaced with pieces of braided boot lace.

AtkinsonTurn the pins or drill out the hole, just make a fit, I would suggest using a mill..I suspect any good smith could handle that with ease..Original? who looks inside a swivel hole?
Then again you might be able to use a small tapered round file and do it by hand..Id tape up all around the barrels incase you slip..
