We don't see double rifles for sale in New Zealand much.

Would this be a good rifle for one to start his double rifle career???

That would fill the need for anything double you might like.
If doubles are not that plentiful and you wanted to start up that is certainly criteria to bid.

VERY good start and at a potentially very decent price. Any Merkel .470 selling for under $8000 USD is a good deal IMO.
