Sliding Safety Question

BigFiveJackSliding Safety Question
I think I've broken something in my sliding safety mechanism.
A few days ago just from curiosity, with the action OPEN I slid
my safety forward and rearward a couple of times. It was NOT
an automatic safety, {it had been, but I had JJ make it NON-
automatic when he did the case colors and the other work.} Well
now it's quite difficult to slide into the FIRE position and when
sliding rearward to the SAFE position there are two distinct clicks
that are heard, the first about half way through the distance that
it comes back altogether, and then at the most rearward position.
What the heck did I break? uggghhh...

OH GOD! {Seriously, we need the help.}
Is this the Charles Osborne you are talking about or another one ?
Who made the gun ?
Webley, Leonard ?????? Any ideas ?
I believe Jack's rifle is a Leonard made rifle.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

BigFiveJack It's a CHARLES OSBORNE extractor rifle. I feel dopey now, I thought that meant
Charles Osborne made it as opposed to Webley or Leonard or anybody else.

What's 'BULL HUNCHING'?*When you guys who own old Brit rifles slide your safeties
CAN YOU SLIDE THEM IN EITHER DIRECTION OR IN BOTH DIRECTIONS
IN COMPLETE SILENCE?

From MEMORY, NO, but I don't often use the Safety as all mine have been made non auto
and I just don't use it much when hunting.

BigFiveJack500N,
While hunting are you walking around with the action OPEN and
rounds in the chambers with the safety in the FIRE position?
Then when you decide it's time to fire you close the action, shoulder
the rifle and let fly?

Use Enough GunBigFiveJack: "Bull Hunching' is a western phrase for forcing something to the point where you finally break it!

Kind of like "Monkey Dinking" (fooling) with something when you ought to be leaving it alone!

No offense meant, as I am sure you feel terrible about "screwing it up" (modern phrase) already!
