Double Rifle Trophies
Gents:
Out of curiosity, what are some of your hunting trophies taken with a double rifle. I won't bore you with many, just one: a Zimbabwe buff taken near Kariba with a Joseph Lang .450 no2. If interest warrants, I will add more after I see some of your memories.
What say you?
Cal

I'm just a Searcy trash shooter, but I've sure enjoyed hunting with my Doubles. Not meaning to bore you folks with my multiple pictures but I couldn't just pick one. I'll save you the multitudes of dead hogs and double rifle pictures in my collection. But here are some varied critters that have fallen to my doubles.

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Not much into posting photos but took my Chapuis 9,3x74R on two Alaskan moose hunts and managed to shoot bull moose on both trips. Nothing out of the ordinary as both were approximately 50 inches wide.
First one was shot at about 75 yards and fell to the ground. Got up and ran to about 110 yards away and put him down for good. Have the entire shooting scene on video.
Second one was not planned as my son had already shot a bull on the trip so we had plenty of meat. But the gent I was with missed it three times with his scoped .338 and he said, shoot! One shot at a lazered 287 yards off hand with the stock iron sights. Hit him in the heart and he staggered for a few seconds and fell. Luckily for me I was practicing shooting the 300 yard gong at Birchwood prior to the hunt so had a good guess on where to hold. My son also witnessed the shot and brings it up every time we talk about Alaska. Lucky shot for sure. But its amazing how lucky we can be with lots of practice.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.
