I've got Bailey's sxs classic break open double in .22 k-Hornet (that's it on the young warthog gracing his website). Forthcoming issue of The Double Gun Journal will describe its use in Southern Africa last year to be published once I get a picture from Ken Hurst who is scratching away at the action.

The comparison would be with his falling block double that is so lauded on a separate thread. To my mind the falling block would only be interesting as a take-down model for more compact traveling.

Tim, just out of curiosity why do you say that? Wouldn't the speed of reload be a factor, assuming that action strength and accuracy are the same? I know it is not "traditional" at least for a double!

Not sure the reload speed is all that much quicker, nor that it should matter than much if the first two shots don't do the job...

Must say that I like the concept of the falling block double, and likely would have asked Bailey to do my .22 k-hornet that way if it had been an option at the time. But, for me, I just won't travel with those long gun cases anymore, so would insist on a take down model. FYI, I have a takedown falling block, a Webley action made with hand-detachable barrels in .375 and .300 H&H flanged magnum.

there are great gun's i have shot one of Baileys gun and it's everything you could expect and more. I sent and article to Allan for consideration hope to hear soon if he is going to publish it.the reload time is amazing once you get some practice there point ability is great to

I had every intention of buying a 450/400 traditional double in the future. Currently own a 470NE Heym 88 that is a wonderful gun.
After looking at the quality of workmanship on Mr Bradshaw's guns; it is what I would like in my hands. Just an exquisite work of art.
I want to order mine soon as when word gets out, I am sure these will go up in price.

I would love to see this, but it may blow my mind as the perfect combo...

ALL those whom I have seen post on B.B.'s rifles have expressed positive opinions.

Must say, Bailey, that if I hadn't won one of Butch Searcy's doubles at raffle last October (which I upgraded to his rising bite action), then I'd likely be asking you to do your takedown falling block magic in .375 H&H flanged magnum.

On the 22 K-hornet, got a great design that Ken is executing. Just taking the while that quality demands.

Bailey is working on my 450 NE with the take down feature plus other cool stuff. Hope to have it late October and ready for Jumbos in November.
I will give a report after that.
If anybody is even thinking better buy now he is filling up fast. Get yours just the way you like it.
I know I will have it in Dallas for the DSC convention.

anyone thinking of getting a rifle built by Bailey will not be disappointed. and if your thinking about it don't think to long the line is getting longer every day for one of them.

Spoke with Bailey last night, a new Bradshaw is in the works. It is going to be a long gestation period. There will be cigars and single malt all around at the delivery.

I agree with you about the two sets of barrels ....hmmm If I can decieve my wife for a little while longer I may just add the 28 ga. option also. A three barrel set in a nice walnut and brass case.. Then I would be through buying guns......naaa not gonna happen.

Might put up a webcam in Bailey's shop and charge to watch the "mad genius" at work.....might even make enough for those 28 Ga. barrels!

I have not handled one of Bailey's guns yet, but from what I've read and seen, this may be the best design ever, and so elegantly beautiful.

If I could afford one, I'd be on his waiting list in a .375 H&H Flanged.

I think Bailey is going to have to expand his operation to keep his growing clientele happy.

7X65R, 375 Flanged & 450 NE! The 7mm would be a bit heavy with the larger frame but manageable!
