FjoldSauer & Sons ext hammer double (Update-Heart broken)
I have a friend who knows that I like guns (big surprise) and he wanted to know if I'd be interested in an old double rifle that he has.
He says that it is marked Sauer & Sons and "it's got two barrels next to each other" and "the hammer things".
He has no idea what it is chambered for or what size the "holes in the barrel" are. He's going to look at it and send me pictures but while I'm waiting I've looked on the net and see a lot of Sauer shotguns but no double rifles.
Were these ever made or were they all conversions?
What is the price range for big bore/small bore double rifles made by Sauer & sons?
Thanks all.
UPDATEThe guy took the gun to a dealer to get the chambering checked and called me all excited because he sold it to the dealer for $500.
He didn't understand what he did until I told him what that gun could have been worth. He told me that he was going to go back in and get his gun back. I haven't heard from him since.

FjoldTusind tak for the information, Peter.
He just messaged me that the "barrels measure 50 mm"

OMG! I've always wanted a 1.97" caliber double rifle!

huskyHi Fjold,
This Sauer & Sohn m/33 in a good overall condition, was up for sale recently at an auction here in Stockholm, asking price $ 2500 -wasn't sold!
The caliber is .450 B.P.E. Sauer & Sohn made quite a lot of hammer rifles in british B.P calibers.

mt AlSounds like your friend has a junker. Please have him send it my way for proper disposal.
I'd rather have a German built back action hammer double rifle than...anything I guess.
I had a back action double rifle drilling. "Had". Wish I'd never sold it.

huskyFjold,
I am so sorry to hear that!
but bear in mind -you are not alone;
I missed the deal on a Belgian made boxlock .600 N.E double rifle just the same way!
The rifle was in SA.
