reworking a remington baikal sxs 45-70
has anyone customised one of these such as stock replacement with decent wood and cheek piece replacing the ribs with solid metal replacing the sights etc? i have 3 other drs. and bought this one for such a project i think there is potential for a nice inexpensive attractive sxs in 45-70. any thoughts or suggestions?

You'd be better of just buying a Sabatti SxS 45/70 IMHO
by the time you take into account all the work / time / materials etc.

Can you do a left hand stock with cheek piece and a higher comb?
