ebrownw2500 NE load needed
My 500NE DR was regulated with Hornady factory ammo. I want load some Barnes tsx bullets up with RL15. Anybody done this and have load data to share?

MJinesI have shot hundreds of .500 NE loads with RL15. Most bullets will regulate with between 95-99 grains of RL15 depending on the lot . . . with a Kynoch foam wad.
+1 IN MY EXPERIENCES AS WELL.
You must use foam backing rod or better the Kynoch wads if loading with R15 . The TSX may fill the gap a little better though.
cheers

DoubleDonWhat Mike said. FYI, the sweet spot for my V-C .500 is 97 gr. RL 15 with backer rod. Good luck!

cal pappasIn a smaller bore, such as the .500 ne, I use (in my rifle--a 1907 Watson Bros.) 112 grains of IMR 4831 and a 570-grain Woodleigh. Fills the case to the bullet's base so no filler is needed.

Todd WilliamsI use RL-15 in the 500NE as well. But I've only shot monos. Barnes Banded Solids, TSX, CEB solids and raptors, and NorthForks. With any of these, the bullet is a bit longer than a conventional cup and core so no filler is needed.

RidgemanAnd the final word from the skinning shed is - " no comment " . Your loads worked just fine and you both shot very well. Your Heym is a very nicely made weapon.
Congratulations on a great safari.
