DB Bill9.3x74R Ballistics ????
Looked thru a couple of reloading manuals and it looks like top velocity with the 286gr bullet runs near 2350 fps......is anyone getting this?
A bit of math shows this to have about 3500 ft lbs of muzzle energy with 3000 ft lbs at 100 yards and 2565 at 200 yards.....and if sighted in about 1.5" inches high at 100 yards it would drop to about 3.4" low at 200 yards.
Does this fit you own experiences?

Bill74DB Bill,
at the range today,I got 2430fps average with the 270gr Speer & 2300fps average with the 285gr Lapua Mega, the loads were a grain short of the max loads,I was shooting 50 & 100 yrds, accuracy was an 1" to 4" at 100 yrds.

ChopperGuyI have my 286 Northforks at 2400 fps. Pretty common speed for properly handloaded cartridges in this caliber.
The Norma 285 oryx factory loads out of my double (Krieghoff Classic) run 2325-2340 fps.

DB BillThese must be fairly soft recoiling loads as when I load my 375 down to 2450 fps with a 300gr solid it's a real pussy cat to shoot and my favorite practice load.
