577NitroExpressMy .470 Francotte at Champlins
If anyone is interested in a solid, vintage pre-WWII .470 NE made by Francotte for a good price, mine is listed at Champlins. Many members here have handled and fired this rifle.
I have had it at Champlin's for about two years and after consulting with George, we have dropped the price. I have a heafy college tuition bill due for my oldest step-daughter and her financial aide package wasn't as robust as we had hoped.
So, if you are looking for an excellent DR in the popular .470 NE caliber, give George a ring. JJ has inspected it and George will give you an honest, no BS opinion about it. The rifle's description with photos can be found here:

Dutch44I have handled this rifle several times and it is clean abd extremely well balanced. Don't let the recoil pad length dissuade your decision as it is a very comfortable rifle. I didn't purchase it because I was feeding two .475 No. 2's, a 450-400 and 450 3 1/4 plus my .500 Westley and just couldn't justify the extra caliber. I don't know the owner or have any connection to this sale. Just an honest and great buy by a great maker at that price and trying to be objective.

Thanks for your honest opinion about the rifle. I love it, and hate to part with it, but my kids come first - the stuff us dads have to do...
Bal:
