I went to the Rambouillet Hunting Fair yesterday and was once again impressed by the quality of the double guns made by Pierre Artisan. I will try to take some photos today but in the meantime here is a link:

One note: to turn the pages in the web catalogue you have to click on the bottom right hand corner of the page. You will notice that Pierre's family name is Chapuis, but he is not connected commercially with the Chapuis Armes which most of you are familiar with. But by golly the fit and finish, the engraving, the wood and the balance on his guns is outstanding. On page sixteen you will see an example of a basic Cape Gun, they are probably the best Cape Guns made today. Too bad no one represents him in the USA.

Very nice. I think the French are making doubles that are as nice as anywhere else on the continent. And at what was a good value tho that is changing for a # of reasons.

I don't understand the explanation of how the receivers are formed.

Very fine guns indeed!.. I assume the receivers are forged then machined .There's no other way that makes sense.
