Perry,
No I'm afraid not my shop. I wish it were!

500N and 470Evans are both right. Hard to get one past you guys!

Where did I get these pictures?

From Butch Searcy.

The rifle will be revealed at SCI in January.
Butch was kind enough to allow me to post these pictures that he sent to me.

Top stuff. That's great to hear.

And good on him for giving it a go.

Rusty,
It helps when you own one to be able to recognize one.

I will be sure to stop by and see Butch at the show now.

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

The announcement of this 'to come' has been on his site for ages now.
I'd been wondering when we'd see something from 'the deep south'

Never did hear a peep from Paso Robles on that one though...

Cheers

Were you seriously expecting to hear anything ?

I wasn't and I doubt many others were.

Do Merkel shotguns come with a Rigby Bissell Rising Third bite Action?

I didn't think so!

You would think that would be in Paso Robles wildest dreams !!!

I would tend to think how can they butcher that up as well !!!

That is a beautiful action, even in the state of finish it is now. Butch is about to make American history with that one. thumb

As far as the Paso Robles rifles go, the only thing good about them is the Merkel action. That is one place they did things right!

................. beer congratulations Butch!

Didn't the original RIGBY firm leave the RISING BITE behind for
the Webley A&WC third bite system? I thought that I read
some where that they, RIGBY, while in London, had deemed the
Webley A&WC SUPERIOR to the Rising Bite.

That's (Webley) what quite a Rigby Sidelocks were made on, certainly.

Haven't read that myself but I had heard they stopped making the RB because of the cost.

Maybe 400NE might be able to expand.

I still think that the RBRTB is one of the nicest looking actions ever built, up there with the Holland Royal Ejector with the reinforced model being the better looking of the two).

I need to make a correction. I'm not making a Rigby Rising bite action. I'm simply using the Bissel design to make rising bite actions. I'm in no way trying to derail either Rigby company.
By the way Peter, very nice start. Good luck

Butch,

Interesting point.

I think it is our fault as we all refer to them as RB RTB Actions automatically.

Anyway, good luck with your endeavour.
