lb404Light for traditional caliber bullets
Many is the time the discussion on the big bore forum about heavy for caliber bullets in dangerous game rifle loadings. Many hours were spent berating the 458 Winchester Magnum if someone wanted to download the round with a very good 450gr. solid. I have observed that many of the loadings from the specialty bullet makers are light for caliber.
North Fork CPS/FNS;
458=450gr
423=380gr
416=370gr
411=360gr.
I know why but in the 411 is the 360gr enough weight even if it does regulate well????
Regulation of the doubles is an important aspect of production and the right weight of the bullet might influence the outcome of the regulation more in some rifles than in others. Or would it?
