Interesting design, Biebs. With bending forces nullified, is it possible it's stronger than the old break-action type?

If so, and were regulation not an issue, could you stoke the .450/.400 iteration beyond 404J velocities?

Yes, I though that made a great pairing.

Yes a falling or rising block design is far stronger than a hinge pin break open action, irrespective of extra bites and cross bolts. The hinge pin is the critical moving part that is the weakest link.

But the brass case is by far the weakest element. Given the short life of my 470NE (5 shots) I would not bother with higher velocity. BTW the 450/400 is a duplicate of the original 404 Jefferey load at 2150 fps for a 400 gr bullets. It is the 416 Rigby that is 2350 fps with similar bullets.

That rifle is really cool.
