I use LFB in my Heym 450/400, they are good and well constructed bullets both in solid and soft.

I used Hornady softs as well (not the current DG production), the bullets were so flimsy that I only use them for "plinking" now.

I'd like to test the new DG Hornady to see what they're worth.

Philip,
I used the new DGX last year out of a .458 Lott on a cape buffalo and wasn't very pleased with the results. The first shot started to mushroom and then the mushroom sheared off at the top. The second sheared off all the way to the cannelure. I think the solids are just fine but will change to a different bullet for the next DG hunt. I think the jackets are too brittle.

Maybe because Norma uses mostly Woodleigh- which have been already subject to numerous discussions. I like them.

Norma makes superb ammo, so they would be my first choice in factory rounds. The only negative I have experienced with Norma is with their brass in .470NE. I have found it very thin and brittle. I experienced head separation after just a couple of reloads. If you could combine the Hornady brass with the Norma (Woodleigh) bullets, you would have the best of both.

Don Heath at Norma said they beefed up their 9.3x74R brass last fall. Maybe they did the same to their 470 brass.
