Nice! Something to consider.

JCS271Not to put to fine a point on it, but.......
It is just a factory bolt rifle and those test targets SUCK.
My Sab .450NE will stack em up at that range. Just say'in.

Great idea.

Forgot to add the gun comes with RCBS dies and 19 or 20 (I think my youngest son stole one for his cartridge collection) once fired brass. I need to go tweak the ad.
BTW, I turned my Sabatti's into a Roger Green 280 and a Jim Wisner 7x57. I am sure many more are doing similar.

Nemo .450I shore-nuff wouldn't spend MY refund money on that.
If I wanted a DR and couldn't afford one yet, I wouldn't settle for (almost) any bolt action.
I would (and have, incidentally) use my refund money to make a deposit on a Taksdale double rifle.
As stated above though, a very nice rifle and a good deal.

BUT, IF I was going to settle for a nice big bore bolt action, I would get this one. -

Try and read before you write such jiberish. The "test targets" are from one of my 45 Colt's as written on the target. The 416 will keep them inside 1 1/4" at 100 yards. A better shooter would likely tighten that up a bit. Seem to recall the Sabatti being a factory double rifle and a piss poor one at that. Cabela's has my two.

Cane RatI continue to be perplexed by the "I'd have rather have a cheap double than any bolt gun" viewpoint and I own a VC double which I love but I also appreciate and love fine bolt guns, especially rifles of the level of this Dakota. For me, given the choice between something like a Sabatti and a truly top-flight bolt gun like this Dakota is a no brainer, a no brainer when it comes to craftsmanship, quality, beauty, and resale value.
Good luck selling it and if I had the dollars right now I would buy it in a minute. Beautiful rifle!

A bit harsh, don't you think? A gun-for-sale post with photos of the gun, prominently displaying a couple of targets with a few letters scrawled in the corner of one of them? I'll bet most folks seeing that would assume the targets were printed by that gun.

Cane Rat,
I didn't mean to infer that I would rather have a Sabatti than a Dakota, I wouldn't!!!
What I meant was, if I wanted a double (which I do), and I got a Sabatti(s) (which I did), and they were duds (which they were), and I returned them (which I did), and I STILL wanted a double rifle... I would stick it out for how ever long it took till I could get my grubby little paws on a double rifle. And I would not want to "settle" for anything less, ie. a bolt action.
However, if I was only looking for a GOOD dangerous game rifle (regardless of Double rifle vs. Bolt action), and had set aside about or under $7,000 for said rifle, I would get the Dakota over the Sabatti EVERY TIME.
So in short, I am not of the "I'd rather have a cheap double than any bolt gun" camp any more.
I'm more along the lines of "I'll wait till I can afford a GOOD double rifle (however long it takes) rather than settle for (almost) any nice bolt action".
I hope this makes sense...

Not harsh at all. I believe there is an etiquette regarding commenting negatively on someone's classified ad. If they were the rifle's targets I clearly would have advised so.

I am no longer in that camp either. I will wait on a double and enjoy a couple of newly purchased custom bolt rifles.

There is an etiquette regarding comments on a classified ad and I would NEVER violate that condition. On the other hand this was posted as an attachment and a not so slight backhand to those of us with "inferior" rifles so I couldn't help myself. I do still think that the targets prominently displayed in the background give the reader the impression that they go with the rifle and apparently so does everyone else. There have been over 580 views with NO responses. You might try lowering the price, it is pretty hard to get premium money for a 16 year old factory rifle these days.
If the targets are indeed attributed to a handgun then I am sorry.
P.S. At least I didn't post that your pistol shooting sucks!

lavacaIt is. And, it's a beautiful rifle. But for that price, couldn't they have found a little prettier wood?
