Charles Mc WilliamsBest double cartridge
What do you think is the best double cartridge based off of first hand field experiences hunting what it was designed for and that is dangerous game?? Lets be honest no hearsay or second hand accounts. I have listed the five most chambered rounds, please let us know if there is another you have had experience with. Thanks for taking part.....Charlie.375.450/??.470.500.600

So where are the 450-400's?
There were only a hand full of .577 and .600 made.

surestrikeI really like the way the .470NE performs on game. It is very manageable to shoot and it has enough reach to make it a very versatile double gun round as well.

500grainsGentlemen,
Wasn't it concluded that cats and Charles McWilliams are one and the same? At least that is what an IP trace several months ago indicated.

BigFiveJackI would think the heavier 577 and 600 are unfairly advantaged here.
This because the others I'm told are often carried by the man who will shoot them.
But the 577 and 600 with there much higher ENERGY are most often carried by a "barer" till needed for the shot.
If a bullet hits the brain of the bull ellie all is equal.
But if the brain is missed, a (mythical of course)
FOUR BORE NITRO EXPRESS is prefered, is it NOT???
