Famars 470 N.E. ROUND ACTION

A few years back, I bought a Famars double rifle. It was to be an Ansen Deeley clone with upgraded amenities. After 4 years delays, as well as numerous deadline delays, I finally received the beast with an upgraded bill for shipping, customs, tax, import duties, etc.!!!
What I got for my money was a Bullino engraved, bushed strikers with extra firing pins, chopper lump, intercepting sears, plain Turkish walnut, double rifle with round action/trigger plate action like their high grade shotgun line. I have always read that these round action type of weapons were of superior design (Dickens round action style).
What is your take on this upgrade? Overkill or really really unnecessary?

lb, Who finished the rifle? Since Famars went belly up 2 yrs. ago? I know Famars USA is open for business. As for up grades I just like a working rifle. Simple question did the upgrades make it a better shooting rifle???

Finished by and imported through Famars USA. Was told it was one of the last double rifles made by Famars, Italy!!!

It is a new rifle. Premium features were to make a stronger barreled action system. I could be wrong. I thought those features defined a top of the line gun verses a plain trade gun. Could be wrong though.

I think you meant to say "Dickson Round Action", the one made famous in Dickson and MacNaughton round action trigger plate shotguns. The other guy wrote books like "David Copperfield". In any case, I would love to see photos of your rifle. Please post a few of them if you can.

You are correct. That's what happens when you multitask sk while on call for OB. Will take some pictures next week when the schedule is lighter and I can get home before dark! It's a shame that Famars has gone under. Glad I have the rifle.

Very nice. Your wood is much better than mine. Mine is Strong and useful, just not the wood I paid Adam extra for. That would have resulted in yet another delay.

My double is slightly different. It is a smooth transition from frame rear of frame. No no tear drop/cheek. It has an engraved charging elephant.

I would love to see photos of your A&S Farmars. I have a Holland & Holland pattern back action side lock DR in 375H&H which is a beautiful rifle exhibiting excellent workmanship.
