Colin MastersHere is a weird one...
https://www.gunsinternational....cfm?gun_id=101373722I love Lancaster wristbreaker souble rifles, the only other one for sale is $32,000 or so at champlins.
They almost all have the extended top strap, and my man Elmer loves his in .375 H&H.

sambarman338Certainly an interesting rifle, with the most prominent sideclips I can recall.
Forgive my ignorance, but what are the round bits in the watertable near the front bite that appear to engage with the protrusions in the barrel flats?
It beats me how a .303 (British?) could be easily converted to .32 Winchester Special considering the former case is bigger - and I can't see any indication that the barrels have been sleeved.
The rear sights are a little strange in the Vs being so deep. Also, the one on the .32 barrels looks as though it's been taken off something much more humble.

If I had to guess it has to do with the self opening mechanism.
Here is the beautiful one at champlins.

sambarman338Thanks Colin,
I like the second one better - but it is more than twice the price. I notice it has more-restrained sideclips and find the chequered trigger-guard tang a nice touch.
Any thoughts on how .303 barrels could be rechambered to 32 Win Special?

Could the breech be set back (cut off and rechamber?)

farbedoHave to see the breech face and muzzles, but they probably re-lined the barrels. .32 spl is pretty low pressure.
Are the .375 H&H barrels dovetail lump?

I wondered about that, too, Cal. I suppose it might work if shoe lumps were used and relocated - harder with chopper-lump barrels.
Could farbedo's idea work, maybe if the just the chambers were relined? I wonder what slugging the barrels might reveal. Is it possible the .303 bores were so worn .32" bullets were no longer a problem?
