retreeverAs Ken says the results are in and it was fun and I had a few problems but worked thru them.
Started pulling shots to the left and confused the heck out of me but regrouped for the second half of the event and shot very good and accurate. Attendance was down but shooting is always fun with friends.
Have a photo of a 450 British vintage double that broke in two at the pistol grip, damn. Will be posting photos later.
Shooters came from Oregon,Washington, Texas, and even one shooter landed with his onw Bell ranger. That was kool.

Paul ReedVintagers 2013: We had excellent weather, spirited competition, good food and drink and the chance to spend days immersed in big bores, stalking rifles, shotguns and gunpowder. As Mike said turnout was a little lighter this year but the event was a resounding success by all accounts. The venue and shooting stations were challenging and well thought out trying to reflect real life hunting situations. Thanks to all the volunteers who help to put this event on.
My photo contributions are below-caution very picture heavy...will post comments/descriptions and movies later.
Congratulations to all of the winners.

Paul ReedBock,
I did not record the rifle maker or caliber, perhaps Retreever can add some information or Jim is a Forum contributor but I do know that the rifle was made in the early 1900's. I looks like oil soaked wood and perhaps a rusted screw caused the final crack. Dan Morgan, gunsmith and volunteer on the Stopping rifle event says he can patch it with fresh wood and modern glues to be hardly noticeable. Thankfully Jim was not hurt...physically...emotionally and financially...well I'm sure there is some pain!!!

505GBecause some stocks do eventually crack and break ?
A knock a long time ago that caused a hairline
internal fracture just legs go under recoil.
I have seen it happen myself once before with
a mates 577 BP. Luckily he felt it go and it
held together.
