Jamison Brass taken down. Terrorists?
It seems we have further reason to be ashamed of our government. Our taxpayer dollars are being spent wastefully to destroy innocent people for activity that should not be considered criminal in any sense. Shameful and shocking!

What has the U.S. come to?

I suppose it will just be a "ho-hum" news report when we next hear that Seal Team Six has shinnied down a rope into a residence in Christchurch, killed five members of a "terrorist" family while asleep in their beds, and recovered a pack of Jamison .470 NE brass found on the loading bench being prepared, undoubtedly, for a "covert sniper operation."

Who are the terrorists and oppressors now?

From what I hear they were a terrorist cell bent on supplying the hunting and shooting community with quality reloading components. I sure am feeling secure knowing that our government is on the alert and protecting us from such diabolical plots! We sure wouldn't want .40-82 Winchester or .577-.450 Martini Henry brass getting into the wrong hands, would we?

See, that's why we have analysts in our surveillance communities, you all missed the real threat. It has nothing to do with the brass, the tac pins! As in TACTICAL! Duh, those are dangerous man, you don't come down hard now you'll have some guy with a tac pin hijacking a container ship or something.

Wake up people and realize our government knows way more about what constitutes a real threat than we do. Next you'll be telling me my 4 and 5 yo daughters don't need to take their shoes off in airport security. Roll Eyes

It should. Holder was deputy atty general in charge of Waco under Reno. This is more of the "behind the scenes" gun control actions Dear Leader was talking about.

No one made such "laws" but idiot lawmakers have surrendered to the beauracrys the right to make regulations with the power of law behind them. Beauracrats LOVE Democrats because that gives them much more lattitude to be the mindless "innerlecshul libberul" fools they are.

Power corrupts and always seeks to grasp more power. That's what drives government at all levels; they aren't seeking ro 'help' anything, they seek power overt thr public for itd own sake. (It's worth mentioning that very few high level government managers are political conservatives.)

Were the charges made under some law Obama brought in? Something in the wording reminds me of the military's squirrel grip on patent law 25 years ago.

But we must not be too judgmental; perhaps the .577/.450 ammo was heading ultimately for India or the Sudan. General Gordon would not like that Smiler

This is part of the Arms Import Control Act of 1976. Nothing has changed since 1976, you need a permit from ATF to import and a State Dept license to export. Ammunition components are Category III b. and covers all components except shotgun shells.
This is a serious law, you can be fined up to $1,000,000 and /or spend 10yrs with free room and board at a Federal facility.

BTW, this is the law that was violated in Iran/Contra and the current AG Holder looks to be in real trouble with operation Fast and Furious. It looks like in both cases the necessary State Dept wavier was never granted.

It would be good to see Holder getting free room and board, what' good for the goose.....But if it came to that, Obummer would give him a pres pardon.
