Verney Carron 600 Nitro at the range
Nothing like a big bore double to wake up the range and draw a crowd.

After some target practice with a Savage 110 in 30-06 and Weatherby 6.5-300, I covered the holes in the targets with the pre-printed dots and told the range officer I’d be making some noise.

And so I did … and the boys (and girls) came running to see.

Great shooting.

How's brass life been? And what's brass supply even looking like these days for the 600?

Some great shooting there and a beautiful rifle Sir!

Only problem is you are supposed to shoot the small bores AFTER you shoot the large bore. That way they feels like shooting 22’s Big Grin

At least that’s my experience.

Guess it’s harder to patch the .620” holes!

I do that with my handguns - start with the 500S&W and work down to 357 Mag!

That’s what my wife says of herself after 45 years of putting up with me.

Thanks Brandon.

Don’t know what’s out there now - I stockpiled what I could when I first got the 600NE (same w 600OK and 585 AHR).

I have Purdey, Kynoch, Wolfgang Romney (same as Westley Richards, I think) and Bertram brass.

So far, I’ve reloaded some 5x and brass seems fine, primer pockets tight.

May I surmise that anyone who can wear out brass in the 600 will probably be either some kind of Titan or a nervous wreck?
