Ouch! the stuff is still pricey, but I've found that the premium brands appear to be superior to the Hornady stuff for reloading.

Any other thoughts on the Hornady?

I've loaded Hornady in both my Searcy and Merkel without any problems. In fact, it is close enough to Jamison to load the same loads in both cases. I also have some Bell brass that also works with the same load data as the Hornady.

I had 400 new Norma brass in 470NE at one time. I purchased it because I used to like Norma brass in a 220 Swift I shot a lot. I had to trim quite a bit off the Swift brass after each firing... this is common in a 220 Swift due to the pressure and high velocity.
After shooting a few hundred rounds through my Searcy 470, I noticed that the brass was stretching, and leaving that proverbial ring in front of the rim. I found that they would seldom last past the 4th loading, before developing cracks. I won't buy the stuff anymore.
I think the Jamison and Hornady brass is far superior to Norma, and costs 1/3 the price.
I am not an expert on brass composition. This is just my experience after shooting several thousand NE rounds and 30 years of reloading. I used to like Norma... I wonder if they have changed the brass in the past 5 years or so?
Just my opinion, ND Smiler

My comments are based on limited experience. I pulled the rim off a Hornady case in the sizer die and had a hell of a time extracting the case. This was after sizing a bunch of Bell brass without issues. I thought maybe the Hornady stuff was weaker. I appreciate the opinions though. I also have 40 Jamison cases that I haven't loaded yet.
