SaxonPigShoots pretty close together.
Took my Cogswell & Harrison 375 NE to the range today and left and right barrels printed about 3/8" apart. I had forgotten how much fun it is to shoot this rifle.

SaxonPigIt's the small 375x2.5" rimmed. I load 220 grain lead bullets to about 2,000 FPS for fun and it can push 270 grain slugs to around 2400 FPS should one wish to get serious with it. Not in the same league with the 375 H&H but not a toy, either.
Shoots great, and enough gun for all but the biggest animals. Nice!

I tend to agree but so many of these 2-1/2" guns have been rechambered to the Flanged Magnum with no apparent ill effects I would think that if the usual caveats are observed, there is more performance available from the 2-1/2" than the original loading.
Small case - high pressure is in play here though at those velocities compared to the same in the Magnum chambering.

I have a Westley Richards in 375x2-1/2". I called WR a few years back about getting a second set of barrels in 375 Flanged Magnum. They told me it would be no problem to re-chamber my existing barrels to the Magnum case.

SaxonPigI am aware that 1950 is where everyone stops with the 375x2.5 but I have worked up to that velocity and have not seen any pressure signs. Primers look OK and cases extract freely. The gun looks pretty massive for the cartridge and I suspect bigger calibers were offered in the same gun so strength is likely not an issue. But I appreciate the advice.

Colin MastersThis rifle is chambered for the .375 2.5". I would love to own it and have it chambered for the magnum cartridge. It is certainly on my radar regardless.
