RustyDavid Mckay Brown
After picking up the rental car our first stop was a brief visit at David McKay Brown's Shop.
David was a most gracious host, a kind gentleman!
Here we are holding his 375 H&H.
He gave me a breif tour of his shop. Here a set of 470 barrels still in the white.
Over his shoulder on the back wall stand 6, 12 bore shotgun barrels in the white. He said that he usually made up the 12 bores 6 at a time for economical reasons.
Below you see why they call these type of barrels "Chopper Lump Barrels"
In a small quaint shop in Glasgow Scotland the art and craft of quality gunmaking is still alive.
David McKay BrownMany thanks to David for taking time to visit with me. Soon after we left he was on his way to a shoot.
Scotland still remains a wonderful place to visit!

505EDGreat Pic's Rusty,
I have had the pleasure of holding one of brown's 12 bore guns. It felt as trim as a toothpic in your hands.

ShowbartRusty, can you confirm how to say his name? Is it pronounced Mc-Key?

LJSThe most beautiful double rile I ever handled was a David McKay Brown round action 470! It made the Westley Richards and Holland doubles look like clubs!

When you pronounce it with a Scottish accent it is.
