Definitely proper.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
- Rudyard Kipling

Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

All very nice guns but I would run from the H&H! I had a cased 465 H&H that was all original and a complete nightmare! A total piece of crap with insurmountable problems. After spending a shit load of money trying to correct it, I put it down the road. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Care to expand ?

Was it a dominion or the newer sidelock ?

Were the problems caused by bad manufacturing or
afterwards by the owner / users ?

Re the guns listed, interesting the Army-Navy .470 NE, a superb classic DG/BG example on a great if not the best action.

That hasn't been my experience with Holland guns, either the Royal or Dominion. What were your problems?

Big sigh!
If only Santa Claus would leave any one of those under the tree this year along with a Botswana Elephant hunt......

If you own a gun and you are not a member of the NRA and other pro 2nd amendment organizations then YOU are part of the problem.

That Holland is beyond proper.....what an awesome weapon. Too bad the 465 was a Holland only caliber. Absolutely 100% firearm.

Not so, I have a 465 made by Westley Richards,
boxlock extractor, nice shortish barrels, great scrub gun.

Agree though, you don't see many !

Nor mine, nor George Caswell's. Particularly the pre-War rifles.
