BEGNOBarnes TSX?
I have seen much castigation of the Barnes solids in DRs, but can I shoot TSX bullets in my Merkel 470 and/or my Chapuis 9.3x74. Does anybody on this forum shoot the TSX in their double? Also, has the Barnes solid design progressed to the the point where you can now recommend shooting them in doubles.

retreeverI called Barnes and they told me positively they will shoot out of a new rifle...
Many of us shot Northfork FN and cupped points out of doubles...

dirklawyerThere are many more drive bands, and smaller drive bands on the Northfork and the GS bullets so less pressure, it does not imply you should not shoot the TSX through doubles, should be fine in any modern DR. I would not shoot them in vintage DR's, I think they're second rate when you have swifts, nosler's, GS, and Northfork coming back into operation.

surestrikeOnly one tiny little issue with Barnes TSX in a 470NE...
Check out the Barnes manual #4.
It does not LIST ONE SINGLE load at the nominal regulation velocity of 2150FPS for the 500gr TSX.
The highest velocity in the manual is under 2100FPS.
One has to wonder what in the HELL they were thinking over at Barnes when they came up with this load data for the TSX!!!
