Gun stuff near Denver?
I'm going to be in the Denver area and parts of Colorado for the next week and a half. Are there any noteworthy gun shops or other attractions for the fine gun enthusiast? Thanks!

May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Brett,

If you are looking for fine gun stuff I would look at MW Reynolds in Englewood. He has really nice clothing, guns and books. The Gun Room in Lakewood has some nice older stuff too.

We also have fine gun rooms in Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas.

The owner of the Firing Line owns one of John Taylor's double rifles and has antique weapons. Unfortunately I didn't get there whilst in Denver.

Have a good trip.

Cheers, Chris

I agree that Mark Reynold's shop is probably the best stop especially if you are into shotguns or bamboo fly rods.
Also, George Horn, owner of the Gun Room in Lakewood, has been working on a walk in vault type room within his shop. I haven't been in there for a while so can't say if it has been completed.

I don't know what sort of classics or doubles they might have, but those goofy guys from the old show "American Guns" are in or around Denver.

I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills.

Their shop still exists but I think some IRS trouble is preventing them from doing regular business.
They rarely have anything of interest as far as safari rifles or doubles although I did buy my Alex Henry sporting match rifle there. Definitely not the usual type of rifle in their shop but not usual in any other shop either for that matter.

Gun Sport in Boulder (14th street, I believe)Used to be a great shop with lots of non-mainstream guns. I haven't been there in a few years but it used to be my favorite.
