New set of barrels
Hello,

I have been wondering what the ballpark price range is to have a new set of barrels made for an old double rifle or shotgun. I know with stuff like this the sky can be the limit, but where do the prices begin? Also what is the cost difference for say monoblocking with an existing set of shotgun barrels vs. a completely new set of barrels. Some old sxs english shotguns with treble grip actions have me wondering. In particular a nice turn of the century Daniel Fraser at the last Holts Auction that I backed off of at the last minute...

Thanks,

Andy

Costs do fluctuate a lot depending on what route is taken. For me the cost to sacrifice the shotgun barrels for the monoblock section runs $2500-$3000. Making an entirely new barrel set is a lot more involved. From making a new monoblock or shoelump, new forend in most cases, plus the barrel work is $4500-$5000+. The more complex the third bite the higher the cost in this case.
