Never been a fan of those.

When participating in these auctions from the US, is there Broker or similar who could assist with the process?

Specifically:

- in person inspection of items
- in person bidding
- organizing export of firearms
- misc paperwork/etc required for export, VAT and similar?

Anyone have someone to recommend or who has been through the process of buying firearms from the uk?

Lovely rifles but am afraid are well above my pay grade at he moment. Working on it though!

Re assistance at auctions - Speak with Fallow Buck or Small Bore on this site - I believe they can assist at auctions.

Holts are pretty good at the descriptions.

They will give you the pros and cons of each item
including faults. Does help to ask the right questions and you could of course fax or email them the questions beforehand which means they can check out what is what instead of waiting on the phone.

In person bidding - do it on the phone yourself.

Export etc They have people who do this if you don't.

Phone Pat at Hollands ot Roland at Holts, they can bid for you and you get them shipped to Holland NY, USA who can them forward them to your local dealer, p.s. Nakihunter, yes they are mine, Todd, thanks for the kind words, best, Mike

Well, Peter the Danish guy from old Rigby used to attend but he is obviously not recommended anymore. Another one was an independent gun maker who now works or contracts for Wesley Richards (I forget his name). I did correspond with him in the past.

Here in NZ we have a local agent who links up with Holts. I am sure Holts themselves could recommend a reliable US link up.

I expect their service & credibility to be among the best. They have the warrant for looking after the guns of the Royal family! When I spoke to the top guy at Holts a few years ago, he offer to show me the Royal collection!
