Small frame, Searcy Classic, two barrel set is on its way home.
Butch will be sending me the first small frame round action double rifle out to me this next week. It has two sets of barrels, one in 450-400, 3" as well as a set in 375 Flanged Magnum. I received the pictures earlier this week and the gun has a fine stick of California English. Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I hope they turn out to be all you expected, and are little lightweight sweethearts.

What a beautiful piece of wood. Some nice looking wood working too.

The rifle sure looks slim and trim.

I hope the rifle comes in at proper "specified" weight. I asked that the rifle weigh as close to 8 lbs as possible. You know what that means though, probably not. I am still working on a 404 Jeffery rifle project and have made orders from 4 makers and specify 8 lbs max on an empty rifle. No one has come within 2 lbs of the ordered weight. I keep selling them and making another order. The next pair is from Clayton Nelson. A 375 H&H and a 404 Jeffery. These are due in a year.I hope they will make weight.

Looks great!

It is hard to believe custom makers can't get within two pounds of the weight you wanted.

577,
OH how I love those Froncottes, and their not even English. They are the creme de creame of double rifles IMO.

Both barrels are set for scopes. After 60, you need all the help you can get.

GEEZ that is a nice rifle. My compliments to you o your caliber choices- they seem perfect for the small frame action. Really nice!

These are his first round actions? Can you tell us how long the production time took for them?

The difference in the classic and the new small frame is that the New action is a round action. To get more specific you would want to talk to Butch and get his take on it. I have only seen it in picture form but Butch told me that the gun is really slim and trim and also that it will probably weigh in at similar weight as the Classic! Frowner

I hope and pray that your rifle (either barrel) comes in at a whopping 9 lbs!!! If so, I'm ready to buy, at a discount of course. Big Grin

Absolutely beautiful! Congrats!

Hey Leonard,
I was out there back in October and played (forgive me) with your gun in the white. It was very nice, i even got some photos should you want them.
By the way, that piece of wood came from the same tree as my 416 that was just completed. "TR" wood as we called it.

Very nice gun.

Hope to see you in Dallas.

A 375 flanged mag DR at about 8.5 pounds would be a fantastic "one rifle" choice!

It would also be a fantastic component in any two or three rifle battery.

Thanks Adam, I hope to have the double in time to bring it to the Dallas show! I talked to Butch and he thought it would be sent out after Christmas as the Barrels needed a blue job. All in all I think it was worth the wait. Having a Luxus walnut blank on it makes it all that much nicer. As you know, I am WFW. That is Wild For Walnut!!! If you have some pictures of the rifle in the white I would love to have you post them on this forum. I will look you up in Dallas. My call schedule has been a killer for the last three weeks and I just finished a 4 day in hell session in OB. They say there is no rest for the wicked and I really must be BAD.
