DCS MemberA Question for Cal, Mac, and Others with Hammer Doubles
I assume the vintage hammer doubles don’t have hammer/firing pin blocks, right? The reason I ask is out of safety concern should a slip and fall happen, would an AD be likely to occur?
This is a question of curiosity, not criticism.

cal pappasNo blocks. Just a half cock safety. Some have sliding bars into the hammers that keep the hammers locked in place.

All my exposed hammer double rifles and cape guns have the slide hammer feature to lock the hammers in the half cocked position. I've never had a problem with this feature over many years of hunting with them. All of my later hammerless doubles made have wrist slide safety button that locks both barrels.

DCS MemberThanks. I suppose the same may hold true with hammer shotguns.

ZephyrBy Hammer Blocks are you referring to "re-bounding hammers" vs "non re-bounding hammers" ??
