pacecarsWeight of a 450/400
Saw this on gunbroker and is 9.6 lbs kind of light for this caliber or about right?

CCMDocPerfect weight from my perspective and experience. Mild recoil of this caliber with enough "thump" for any animal that walks makes it one of my favorites.
frankly I'd like to add that one to my safe.
Good luck

470EvansMany of the 450/400s are overweight at 10.5lbs plus. I think this is an ideal weight. This vintage one at Champlins is right as well.

meteLight metal , fairly light wood , brown recoil pad , I think that would work well for me !!

458WinThe 450/400 is not a hard recoiling caliber and is certainly no worse than the 375 HH. My 450/400 weighs 8 1/2# and is a pleasure to carry and very managable.
Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

Agreed! That's why George sold it Friday afternoon.

DoubleDonYep, George got off the phone and said it was sold. The buyer would finalize on Wednesday. Guess he had a renigger. Very nice double.
