James Purdey .577 Snider double rifle
Underlever hammer non-rebounding hammers with island locks. It is actually a .577 Snider. Cased in its original oak case with accessories. Bullet mold numbered to the rifle casts a .575 bullet. Purdey lists as a 28 BORE double rifle made for Viscount Downe in 1867. excellent bores except for a few very very minor pits at end of right chamber. Much original finish, stock is sold with original flat topped checkering. Viscount Downe was a Major General in the British Army. https://i.postimg.cc/K8KDD50D/IMG-7301.jpg
