AntlersElmer Keith's Double Picture
Anybody know anything about the picture of the DR at the top of our forum? I know that it is Mac's avatar and he notes that it's the "Hands of Old Elmer Keith".
I may be wrong but I think it is from his book "Hell, I was there". A great read>

ironfistGlad to help you,it's from a Guns&Ammo Annual,1969 edition,page 42.
It's a photo of Elmer's .577 double being loaded with 750 gr. solids.
picture caption reads"Double rifles like this .577 firing 750-grain solids are sure stoppers for biggest game and can be reloaded quickly with practice."

Mike BrooksI've got a pic of him getting bent backwards shooting a 600. It is in an artical for Americam Riflman he wrote in 1937 about double rifles for the woods. A classic EK piece.
