Zoli O/U Double 450/400

Back in the spring, I found a Zoli O/U double in 450/400 for sell. It looked new and he was asking $8,000. I passed on it, but I really liked the way it fit. It had 26 inch barrels, and I thought it felt great on my shoulder. At the time I wasn't looking for a double. I have recently returned from my first plainsgame hunt in Namibia, and I have got the bug for a double rifle.

Does anyone have one of these 450/400 Zoli's? Would this be a good first double rifle? I am also looking at the Merkel SxS 450/400, or possibly a Searcy in 450 3 1/4".

Any feedback would be appreciated. THANKS!!

I have a SxS Zoli in 9.3

They are good, solid working guns. Nothing flash but neither is the price on them normally
but they work.

You'll find some discussions about the Zoli on the Nitroexpress.com Double Rifle forums.
A couple of the fellas there have obtained new Zolis.

i have a zoli450 400 serial number 2,i got the first one here shoots great regulated with kynoch is the one down side i wont sell it for anything a sweet sweet rifle

Are there not TWO Zoli's both with the initial A. One being quite expensive and one being more low priced. I have ads for Antonio Zoli for O/u in 9.3x74r from Cape Outfitters for the princely sum of $2095. I think the other Zoli just went by A. Zoli and were of much higher quality. This is from some years back. My memory could well be suspect though as it sometimes is.
