21 months ago. It will be finished this summer. So total time will be around 2 years.

Not nearly the first falling block DR.

Look almost all the way to the bottom of this page.

I think that is the ultimate durability/ reliability concept. Double everything, as simple as possible, not break action, hand detachable locks for easy maintainence/replacement in the field.

With regards to a takedown system. I have no exprience with such systems.

Bradshaws current design is:
- Three screws that are removed and the barrels lift off the action.

Will a system like this be suspectible to wear? Anyone have experiences with similar systems?

It seems he is working hard to catch up on deliveries. Also evolving/perfecting his design piece by piece.

ddrhook, great caliber! What options will you get?

Are you going to oil it with natural wood colour showing or will it be stained redish with Alkanet root infusion in the oil?

Wow, cannot wait to see this wonderful rifle finished. That wood is some of the loveliest I have seen.

I am no expert but I am a real sucker for nostalgic traditional classic English finish on fine rifles! I just love that red tinged oil finish.

Here is my Mannlicher Schoenauer I did a few years ago - plain wood grain before oiling

[/URL]

After sanding & finishing to 600 grit and oiling 20+ coats with Alkanet root infused linseed oil & finally Danish oil (which has the waterproofing Tung oil in it)

This is a loading block I made for a 416 Rigby with some of the bits of wood from that blank
