The falling block double rifle design
I was looking through an old Double Gun journal from 1998 and they showed a falling block double rifle in the issue. They went on to describe the many benefits of the falling block over the break open action namely strength in design.

I guess it all begs the question, why aren't double rifles falling blocks and not break open actions?

The author of the article left me with the impression that the only reason was because people were used to their shotguns operating that way even though it is a much weaker action type.

Was that the Danl Frazier prototype?

I think the wide arc the barrels describe on a break-open design make a reload under pressure much faster and easier. Same thing for ejecting the empties, an FB design might throw them right back at you.
